We Love Shinny runs the operational side of your pick-up hockey group — who's in on Thursday, whether both nets are covered, who has paid, and a web page you can hand to the next new player — so the group chat can go back to being fun.
The mission
This is shinny, not NHL try-outs
Players of all skill levels are encouraged to play — nobody gets cut from shinny. Our priorities, in order, on every screen we build:
Fun
The whole point. The heart is literally at the middle of our rink — what drops at centre ice here is a heart, not a gavel.
Fitness
What chasing the fun does to your legs. An hour of shinny beats an hour of most things.
Skill
Welcome, but never checked at the door. No rankings, no leaderboards, no scouts in attendance — ever.
How it works
Three beats, like a good line change
The organizer sets the season
Dates, rinks, recurring ice times, skater and goalie capacity, and prices — season subscriptions, drop-in rates, and your goalie policy (most groups let goalies play free; yours can too).
Players tap in
One tap to register, one tap to cancel. Full sheet? Join the waitlist and watch your spot in line. Pay by card or e-transfer, and carry proof of payment on your phone.
Everyone skates
Session day, at a glance: skaters 14/16, goalies 2/2, who's paid, who's at the door. Check-in takes a tap, and the record keeps itself.

The goalie scramble
A goalie cancels the night before. Instead of you cold-calling a spares list from memory, the platform offers the open net to your goalie standby list, then every goalie on the roster — while you watch coverage go from 1/2 to 2/2 in real time.
A waitlist that never feels rigged
First in, first offered, with a claim window — and your place in line is always visible. If an organizer ever bypasses the queue, it's recorded. The line is honest because everyone can see how it works.
Proof of payment at the door
A big green check with your name, the session, and the group — straight from your phone, even in a rink lobby with one bar of signal. Nobody plays wallet inspector at 10 PM.

Your group gets a front door on the web
Every group gets its own page at yourgroup.weloveshinny.com — your name, your colors, your schedule, what a skate costs, and a join button. Short enough to say out loud in a dressing room; good enough to hand to the next player who asks "can I come Thursday?"
